She has an undergraduate degree in Drawing from the School of Fine Arts of Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), earned in 1989, and specialized in Printmaking in 1998 (&#8220;The graphic artworks nowadays: from printmaking to digital printing&#8221; \u2013 Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Barcelona, Spain).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>From 1999 to 2001, she was a resident artist in HANGAR Atelier (Barcelona, Spain), having participated in relevant fairs and shows, such as: ARCO \u2013 International Contemporary Art Fair, Madrid; &#8220;Dry Body&#8221; (&#8220;Corpo Seco&#8221;), Sicart Gallery, and \u201cUrbild,\u201d Antonio de Barnola Gallery, both in Barcelona.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Since then, she has showcased her work in major solo and group exhibitions in institutions and galleries throughout Brazil, Venezuela, and Peru.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Main solo exhibitions: 2018, \u201cNydia Negromonte. That year, she also took part in the 30th Bienal de S\u00e3o Paulo: The Imminence of Poetics, organized by curator Luis P\u00e9rez-Oramas and partner curator Andr\u00e9 Severo. In 2013, she was invited to join the &#8220;Selection of Artworks of the 30th Bienal de S\u00e3o Paulo: The Imminence of Poetics,\u201d as well, in Centro Cultural Chacao, Caracas, Venezuela.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Most recently, she was one of the nominated artists of the 7th edition of the CNI SESI SENAI Marcantonio Vila\u00e7a Visual Arts Prize.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nydia Negromonte (Lima, Peru, 1965, naturalized Brazilian) is a plastic artist.
