Escalera (spanish for Staircase)

ESCALERA (Spanish for STAIRCASE, 2012): this work was conceived especially for the Pampulha Art Museum. It shows, on one side, a photograph taken from the artist’s family album (printed with mineral pigments on cotton paper, 150 x 97 cm), of a group of Architecture students from Lima, Peru, during a field trip to Uruguay, posing on top of a staircase that was probably designed by an important Uruguayan architect. That group is then “invited” to visit the staircase designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer for the Auditorium in the Pampulha Museum.
