Hídrica: Episódios (Hydric: Episodes)

Exhibited in the 30th São Paulo Biennial, the installation HÍDRICA: EPISÓDIOS (HYDRIC: EPISODES, 2012) is composed of wooden structures, water tanks, PVC pipes, hoses, bowls, laundry tubs, drinking fountains, toilet flushes and shower heads. The installation appropriates the water from the building (namely, the São Paulo Biennial Pavilion) by use of an “illegal” connection. The water supplies a tank built on top of a 10m-tall tower that communicates with the inside of a room on the second floor. This tower holds four shower heads and supplies a smaller, 4m-tall tower located inside that supplies other episodes in the room – two fountains, three tubs and a flush – which are available to the audience.
