Pulmo

PULMO (Latin for LUNG): action/installation made with low-density plastic sheets of varying sizes, air and water. The plastic sheet is spread on the ground and a dash of water is used to seal most of its perimeter. Ascending and descending pulling movements allow for an amount of air to be trapped under the sheet; when maximum height is reached, that opening is also sealed with water. The work is sensitive to the displacement of air generated by people moving around it. As days go by, the water evaporates gradually and the air volume trapped grows smaller and eventually withers away.
